TT Assen
29 June, the day when the Litho's were supplied.

At last, after a year of consultation and meetings we present the exclusive Litho's of Gicomo Agostini!
First Giacomo and I had to decide wich motorcycles we would choose for the first serie, eventually the choice fell on the paintings now presented;
AGO on MV the Agusta 500-3 cil. At Assen/the Netherlands (1968), AGO on the YAMAHA 500-4 cil. At Imola/Italy (1975) and AGO on MV the Agusta 350-4 cil. At Assen/the Netherlands (1976).
Like always at the last moment, it was hectic and my mind was full of questions and doubts; wil the Litho's be exact as we had in mind, will the printer use the correct paper and will the colours with every print be as good as the sample we made in front?
In heavy rainfall (the weather didn't really help me to feel more comfortable at this day), the litho's were delivered while i was in Assen at the Dutch TT.
While i was giving an interview for Radio Drenthe because of my paintings and my passion for the old heroes, i got a phone call from home, the Litho's are perfect!

During this amusing interview (near the pits) we looked at the qualification times of Casey Stoner, Chris Vermeulen and Valentino Rossi, who was at first a bit dissapointing, an eleventh position for the Doctor. (But the next day the Doctor has healed himself and won the Dutch TT)
Suddenly, during this interview, I heard a sound what sounded as music in my ears, the beautifull noice of........... yes of course, a MV Agusta!
With full truttle he disappears on the "bedeldijk", and on the end the Agusta gears back and for a moment it was totaly quiet.
Everyone was waiting in tension, AGO passes with five drivers in front of him, is something wrong with his "Bella Macchina"?
No everything was ok, he just waited for the right moment to give it all and the next round he passed in fourth position and while he passed the "Veenslang" he allready took the thirth position and his "Bella Macchina" roars towards the next corner, It sounded just like your favorite song on a CD which allways last to short.
AGO breaks the round record and finished with a minute in front........and on that moment i became aware that this was just a melancholic daydream caused by the CD which the auditors used to let the listers hear the fantastic sound of a Mv-Agusta.
For a few seconds it took me along to a journey into my youth where these impressions and sounds formed me, and my passion for my paintings.

Where do you hear this fantasic sounds nowerdays, and willwe hear and feel this again?
That's why I want these "Momentos d'ORO", the golden years of the motorcycle sport, keeping alive, by painting these emotions and where it not stops by the great AGO, more motorcycle heroes will follow in my guest to express this in my paintings.
